Derry Walls
Derry is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland and one of the finest examples of Walled Cities in Europe. The Walls were built during the period 1613-1618 by the honourable, the Irish Society as defences for early seventeenth century settlers from England and Scotland. The Walls, which are approximately 1.5km in circumference, form a walkway around the inner city and provide a unique promenade to view the layout of the original town which still preserves its Renaissance Style street plan to this day.

Tower Museum:
The impressively overwhelming Tower Museum tells the story of Derry’s history, from its geological formation millions of years ago, right up to the present day, covering everything from the Plantation, through to the Siege of Derry and the city’s troubled political past. The museum also houses the Armada Shipwreck exhibition which deals with the recovery of La Trinidad Valencera which was shipwrecked off the coast of Donegal in 1588.

Portlaoise, Ireland		 10-12-2009 From Total Travel's Website: Rose Park House is Large detached Town House about 5 minutes drive from the centre of Derry. With ample off streep parking for approx 4 cars.
Newly refurnished and just opened as a Guest House we had no idea what to expect.
After a very long drive, Thomas made us feel part of his family from the moment we walked into his beautiful home.
Superbly furnished to the highest standards. This House has everything a guest would need to relax in. With a Comfortable guest lounge, modern dining room it was spacious and bright .

New York		 09-01-2009 From Tripadvisor: Great B&B - a 10 minute walk from the city center with spotless rooms and a great breakfast. It will be hard to find friendlier hosts in Derry than the Gallagher family who helped us find our way around the city and provided us with most valuable information about the local culture & history.
